You may not have been in the streets lately but the police have been cracking down hard on anyone who stands against them. We've come a long way since Keisha "teargas" Bottoms thought she had a shot at the VP spot and National Guardsmen were dancing in the street. For a moment she held back her thugs while she thought she should be the token person of color to legitimize Joe Biden's campaign. But now that there's no benefit for her she's unleashed her goons and they're looking for payback.

Last weekend our comrades were out in the streets showing solidarity with Breonna Taylor and the people of Louisville. APD infiltrated the crowd using undercover officers and lured the crowd of peaceful protester onto a bridge in old forth ward. Once they had cut off all escape routes they sprung their trap, swooping in and arresting as many as they could on trumped up jaywalking charges. MADSA members were among the arrested, luckily they weren't hurt badly and were quickly freed, but scanners reported some protesters had to be taken to Grady after their arrests. Officers were heard on the radio talking excitedly about being able to use their new tear gas.

Make no mistake, protesting is dangerous right now. APD has made it clear that there are no more low risk actions, they will come for us for no reason whatsoever, without even the barest pretense of justice being done. This is why police abolition is so important and why we need your support this weekend.

Saturday: CMB and MADSA To Protest Police Repression

Community Movement Builders (CMB) has called an action this weekend in defiance of APD's repressive tactics. MADSA is proud to endorse this event, please come join us as we tell APD that ATL is ready and ATL is coming for them. Expect cameo appearances from Brian Kemp's thugs as they stand shoulder to shoulder to remind you of the difference between democrats and republicans. Both parties can agree on tear gas, who knew?

MADSA Officially Endorses Zan Fort for Senate District 39

At this past weekend's Convention, the Metro Atlanta DSA membership voted to endorse Zan Fort, a working-class fighter challenging the corporate Democratic establishment in a special primary election on November 3rd! He supports Medicare for All, a $15 minimum wage, the Green New Deal, and the Black Lives Matter movement. He's fighting for a society that works for the many - not just the wealthy few.

He's not taking corporate money or fundraising in wine cellars - he's counting on grassroots support from ordinary working class people like you! You can help out immediately by donating $27 to Zan's campaign. But more importantly, our electoral working group will be organizing canvasses, phonebanks, and get-out-the-vote events over the next month in a DSA For Fort campaign to talk to voters about Democratic Socialism and elect Zan Fort to the State Senate in the process.
