We lost an American hero last month -- the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is an overwhelming loss to our country.
Justice Ginsburg was a trailblazer for women, working mothers, equality, and justice. She has left an immeasurable impact on our country that will be felt for generations to come.
The justice who is appointed to replace RBG on the Supreme Court will also have the opportunity to change our country for years to come. They will decide cases that will affect the future of health care in our country, protections for pre-existing conditions, women’s reproductive freedom, and voting rights.
Votes are already being cast across the country but Trump and Republicans are rushing through the confirmation process in hopes of getting a new justice appointed before the election. Election Day is 32 days away but since 1975, the average confirmation took 70 days.
This is a decision that will affect all of us, so I want to hear your thoughts.
Do you believe the American people should have a voice in who our next Supreme Court justice will be before they are chosen?
Your friend,
Dutch
