John,
We’re just 15 days away from our massive uprising in D.C. and preparations are well underway. We’re almost ready to share the full plan for October 17th, but in the meantime, we need to talk safety.
Women are facing the direct impacts of COVID-19 and we know how important it is to protect ourselves and our loved ones. We’re expecting thousands of people in D.C. to march for our democracy – and we want to make sure that everyone is comfortable and safe.
With so many people gathering together (even socially distant and outside) it is essential that we have the resources to provide enough masks for those who need them.

We know that our movement takes coronavirus very seriously and is very enthusiastic about masks. That’s why nearly 7,000 people signed up to join our #MaskUp project earlier this year to make homemade masks for their communities.
We want to make sure that everyone at the march is safe and comfortable – and we know that having extra masks on hand will be essential. Research shows that masks and social distancing are the single most important things we can do to prevent the spread of the virus.
If just one in five people reading this donated $6, we could meet our mask budget today and focus our funds on more exciting initiatives like art, recruitment, and volunteer training – but we want to make sure the basic needs are met first.
Together we can build this march from the grassroots up and feel proud knowing that all of us had a hand in making it happen.
Thank you so much for making all this possible.
