At the beginning of this year, there were many political pundits and talking heads who thought I was toast. They said I had no chance of winning reelection in a Trump +10 congressional district. If you remember, Republicans started running attack ads against me in 2019!
And it never stopped. Even at the start of the COVID-19 crisis, National Republicans lobbed attacks at me — and even launched custom websites to spread lies about my record. Donald Trump stumped in my district, and then stumped in my district again — sending Eric Trump and Mike Pence following after.
But none of it worked. Because of you, John. Because every single time they’ve gone low, you’ve been at my side and helped me fight back.
Without you, Donald Trump and his DC Republican buddies would’ve steamrolled over this district and pocketed this swing seat for their reclaimed House Majority.
Listen, I know we email you a lot. I know every day it feels like there’s something new to respond to. But here’s the truth: You are on the frontlines of this fight with us. And we couldn’t make it a single moment without you.
Now we are entering the final stretch. We have the momentum, we are on the right course, but we have to cross the finish line. This final month is not going to be easy. You’re going to hear from me and my team a lot as we keep you updated on every twist and turn.
But here’s what I’ll promise you: In the fight for affordable health care, in the fight for good-paying jobs, and in the fight to keep this swing seat blue, I will leave everything out on the field.
