"My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed."

— Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Before she passed, Justice Ginsburg dictated these words to her granddaughter. Even to the end, she was always focused on the mission at hand and the work ahead.

Now, just two weeks after Justice Ginsburg’s death, Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell are poised to rush a radical right-wing judge through the confirmation process in an attempt to fill Justice Ginsburg’s seat before the election. But a majority of Americans believe that the nomination should be delayed until after Inauguration Day, and their voices matter. We are a democracy.

Let’s be clear: Democrats in Congress must use every tool at their disposal to slow down this confirmation and honor Justice Ginsburg’s final request. Any remaining Republicans with a conscience must do the same.

McConnell is hell-bent on rushing a judge onto the Supreme Court who will vote to overturn Roe V. Wade, dismantle the Affordable Care Act, and enable voter suppression across the country.

We can’t allow that to happen.

The national election is already underway. In fact, more than 2 million people have already voted in the November election. At this point, the American people should have a say in who fills Justice Ginsburg’s seat.

Add your name now if you agree: There should be no vote on any nomination to fill Justice Ginsburg’s Supreme Court seat until the winner of this election is inaugurated >>

Thank you for raising your voice today. Over the coming weeks, we’re going to continue doing everything we can to stop Trump and McConnell’s radical Supreme Court takeover.
