Beating a bigot is no easy task – and it’s even harder when you’re campaigning in a pandemic. Read how Ritchie Torres won the battle for the Bronx here.

MINNESSOTA UPDATE

News broke last week in U.S. Congresswoman Angie Craig's reelection campaign that one of her opponents had passed, triggering a delayed election date. Congresswoman Craig proudly represents Minnesota’s 2nd district.

Congresswoman Craig is currently suing to keep her election date in November, alleging that moving the election date is a “clear violation of federal law”. It’s possible the state law could be overruled.

Congresswoman Craig announced a new ad last week, titled "Skills." Watch the full ad here!

THIS WEEK IN HOMOPHOBIA

Local San Diego propaganda network KUSI News has been promoting false Q-Anon conspiracy theories about LGBTQ candidates Georgette Gómez, Todd Gloria (for San Diego Mayor) and Scott Weiner (for the California state Senate). Georgette is calling on her opponent to stop running ads on the station until they apologize.

Another week, another homophobic attack from the increasingly desperate U.S. Congressman Fred Upton: the latest TV ad from the NRCC attacking Jon Hoadley is one of the most atrocious we’ve seen this cycle. But Jon remains focused on beating Upton and making history in Michigan’s 6th district.

Spotlight candidate Zach Stepp is running to make history in the Ohio state legislature, but his opponent is twisting past Facebook posts and painting herself as an honorable legislator. You can review the hit piece here.

Jabari Brisport knows that making history as the first Black openly LGBTQ member of the New York state legislature will mean the world to the kids of New York – including his current students.

Watch Front Country’s music video closely enough, and you might just see Spotlight candidate Brandon Thomas! Brandon appeared in the video to encourage people to head to the polls and vote – especially in his race for the Tennesee state House.

In Franklin Country, which has one of Columbus, Ohio’s largest LGBTQ communities, Jeff Mackey is running to add essential judicial representation to the Franklin County Probate Court. Learn more here!
