Dear Friend of the National Parks,
Congress is back in session this week and will likely vote on two
important bills that would protect coastal parks and communities from
expanded oil and gas drilling. And park advocates are picking up the
phone to make sure this legislation passes!
Please take a moment now and call your congressperson. Tell
your U.S. representative to
vote YES on both the Coastal and Marine Economies Protection Act and
the Protecting and Securing Florida's Coastline Act!
While the Trump administration is pushing to expand offshore oil and
gas drilling along America's coastlines --

placing our national parks, a diversity of wildlife, and countless
jobs at risk -- governors in coastal states, numerous coastal
communities, and park advocates like you continue to speak out against
the administration's plans.
Now, Congress is taking a stand by voting on legislation to
permanently protect America's coastlines by removing the Eastern
Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific and Atlantic from future offshore
drilling.
To ensure these bills pass, your congressperson needs to hear from you
today! Pick up the phone right now and tell your U.S. representative to vote YES
on both the Coastal and Marine Economies Protection Act and the
Protecting and Securing Florida's Coastline Act!

This legislation would protect more than 50 national parks, like
Gateway National Recreation Area, Gulf Islands National Seashore, and
Olympic National Park -- plus numerous communities and businesses, and
migrating and nesting wildlife along America's coastlines.
This is exactly why Congress is set to act this week; too much is at
stake. Make the call today and tell your U.S. representative to vote YES
on this important legislation!

Expanding drilling along our coasts is simply irresponsible;
it's a risk we can't afford to take. Thank you for using
your voice to protect America's coastal parks and communities.
Sincerely,
Matt Kirby
Director, Energy and Landscape Conservation
PS. Calling Congress is quick and easy, and research shows that calls
to Capitol Hill are effective. Making a call to your congressperson
and letting them know how you feel is empowering. Speak up now!
You'll be glad you did. Thanks!
