Friends,
Ghost guns are an existential threat to public safety. They are untraceable, largely unregulated, and are becoming the weapon of choice for criminals who want to circumvent the law in order to obtain a gun.
You shouldn't be able to buy a kit on the internet and build a gun at home without first passing a background check -- just like you would for any other gun purchase.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) needs to do its job and classify ghost guns as firearms and take steps to regulate them just like they do for other guns.
That's why this week, Giffords Law Center joined a lawsuit with the state of California against the ATF to hold them accountable.
Will you add your name today and join our lawsuit against the ATF? They have a responsibility to regulate ghost guns and keep them out of the hands of criminals.

If you can build IKEA furniture, you can build a ghost gun. Anyone can make a DIY ghost gun at home, and that's a huge threat to public safety.
These kits are easily purchased online--no background check required. This is a rapidly emerging threat that we must take seriously.
Giffords is on the frontlines of making our communities safer from gun violence and that includes stopping the threat of ghost guns.
