Minimum Wage Increase The minimum wage in Alaska will increase slightly in 2021. · Current minimum wage = $10.19 · 2021 minimum wage = $10.34 Alaska's minimum wage in adjusted annually to account for inflation thanks to a 2014 successful ballot initiative. Alaska's minimum wage is required to be at least $1 per hour over the federal minimum wage. Tips do not count toward Alaska's minimum wage. COVID-19: Mental Health Help The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services plans to distribute $750,000 in Federal relief funding to respond to the increased need for mental health services during the COVID-19 pandemic. The money will be used to: Prevent suicide and substance abuse. Expand access to the statewide crisis call center. Train behavioral health providers. Facilitate community planning and training.
