Hi John,
Our movement is on the verge of electing more progressive candidates to office than ever before, but I need you to step up today.
So, I’m writing to personally invite you to join me in a live conversation with the Working Families Party tomorrow about what's at stake in this election, and how we'll win these important races. I hope that you’ll RSVP.
Over the last year, I have stood shoulder to shoulder with young people to protest and demand a Green New Deal on Capitol Hill. I’ve even been arrested a few times for it.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my years of political activism, it’s that the barriers we face to achieving our goals are not existential — they come in the form of politicians more focused on their re-elections than on making a difference.
We don’t need more politicians in elected office — we need bold activists. Activists who personally understand the disproportionate impact of climate change on communities of color. Activists who personally understand the experience of being Black in America. Activists who personally understand the hardships of being sick without access to health care.
The Working Families Party is doing essential work to support candidates at every level of office who will fight for racial, social, and economic justice, and importantly, understand the urgency of this moment to pass a Green New Deal.
Now more than ever before, we need to elect multi-racial and intergenerational candidates who will fearlessly take on the challenges that face us. No group is driving that mission further than the Working Families Party.
Our movement can’t succeed unless we unite our power as a collective. We need to work together to uplift candidates who will make a difference as our elected leaders.
Please join our live discussion tomorrow about how you can support our progressive movement. We’ll be discussing some of the incredible and inspiring candidates that are running for elected office right now.
