Advancement Project National Office is partnering with Puente Human Rights Movement [[link removed]] and Mijente [[link removed]] to host Who's Incarcerating Us in Maricopa County?, a webinar on the role of sheriffs and county attorneys in Arizona’s carceral state. Advancement Project National Office Executive Director Judith Browne Dianis participated in a conversation with Oprah Winfrey and other leaders in the fight for voting rights, including Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, Stacey Abrams (Fair Fight), Minyon Moore (Power Rising), and Tiffany Dena Loftin (NAACP Youth).

We also released a statement [[link removed]] in response to the Grand Jury’s verdict in Breonna Taylor’s murder. Following the infuriating and unsurprising announcement, we participated in an emergency panel [[link removed]] with Black Lives Matter-Louisville calling on Louisville officials to take immediate action. Our Justice Project Staff Attorney, Ashley Carter, demanded the following:
1. Immediately fire and revoke the pensions of all officers involved in the murder of Breonna Taylor
2. Divest from Louisville Police Department and invest in Black and Brown communities

Because Election Day is right around the corner, we hosted a Rights Restoration Convening on September 17 to rally our partners around the voting rights work needed in this moment.

On the topic of national protests resulting from the murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and others, Advancement Project National Office released the following statement.
“Conflating the movement for racial justice with violence with violence is inaccurate [[link removed]] —but more importantly, it reveals a complete failure to engage with the actual demands and actions of Black and Brown organizers and the communities they are uplifting,” said Judith Browne Dianis, executive director of Advancement Project National Office.
