John,
At Food & Water Action, we’re fighting back so we can all have a healthy future. Like you, we want a world where everyone has safe food, clean drinking water and a livable climate. Here’s an update on just some of the issues you’re helping us move forward.
Food & Water Watch 15th Anniversary Virtual Benefit was a Huge Success!
The 15th Anniversary Virtual Benefit was a huge success raising over $160,000 and it’s because of supporters like you. The evening was filled with great conversations, laughter, and gratitude for everything you help us accomplish. Seeing our celebrity guests, Food & Water Watch and Food & Water Action supporters, and staff come together to share why we stand up for food, water, and climate was awe-inspiring, energizing, and humbling.
So you don’t miss out on the memories from that evening, we wanted to share the recording of the Benefit with you. You can watch it here, and please feel free to share with others who you think would be inspired by it and consider supporting.

A Future Without Fossil Fuel Driven Energy
Food & Water Action research shows that fracking is, and continues to be, a dangerous and destructive process. That’s why we were the first national organization to call for a ban on fracking and we’ve been fighting policies expanding and promoting it ever since.
Along with your support, our persistence has brought huge victories. We’ve banned fracking in Maryland, New York, and Washington, and in hundreds of communities across the country. And, earlier this year, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) introduced the first-ever federal legislation to ban fracking.

Plus earlier this month Reps. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) and Nanette Diaz Barragán (D-CA) also introduced legislation that would move us toward a future without fossil fuels – the Future Generations Protection Act would ban fracking, oil and gas exports, and new fossil fuel power plants.
None of this would be possible without your letters, phone calls, marches, and persistent activism. Send a message to your representative. We can have a green energy future, and one without fossil fuels.

Ending Corporate Agriculture’s Stranglehold on Our Farm System
COVID-19 has exposed the exploitation and injustice in our country’s food system. From unsafe conditions for meat processing plant workers to the inhumane treatment of animals on factory farms, food and factory farm systems have been under the spotlight like never before. Our modern industrial food system is being exposed for what it truly is — a dangerous corporate racket.
The factory farm agricultural model, which dominates our country’s food system, fuels toxic air and water contamination, drives dangerous and unfair working conditions, wreaks havoc on independent farmers and rural communities, promotes animal cruelty, and threatens food safety.
Learn more about the corporate control over our farm system and why we need to pass the Farm System Reform Act.

Over 300 local, state and national advocacy organizations sent a letter to Congress urging passage of the Farm System Reform Act. And you can help pass this bill: Send a message to your Members of Congress. It’s time to end Big Ag’s stranglehold on our food and farm system!

Why we are Suing the Energy Department
The Department of Energy seems to believe that a massive fracked gas liquids storage system is a clean energy project and that they can hide information about it from the public. We disagree.

Trump’s Race to Approve Dirty Energy Backfired
We won major victories in the struggle to keep fossil fuels in the ground and block dirty pipeline development when the courts ruled against Trump and his rush to illegally approve fossil fuel infrastructure.

Why Chemical Recycling Of Plastics Doesn’t Work
Fracking and a gas glut are fueling an unnecessary plastics production bonanza. The plastics industry has partnered with oil and gas companies to protect their industries by investing in chemical recycling. Chemical recycling is promoted as an effort to deal with our plastics problem, but it really just green washes plastics and fails to tackle climate change.

National Estate Planning Awareness Week
Our donors tell us they are dealing with all of life's major events — job changes, health changes, moves, births, and unfortunately, deaths. These changes serve as a reminder to plan for a future that reflects their values — just like Food & Water Watch is doing.
National Estate Planning Awareness Week is October 19-25, 2020. Don’t know where to start or have questions about creating a legacy of which you can be proud? We can help get you going — just ask for a copy of our free Estate Planning Guide by writing to Royelen Lee Boykie at
