A new CAPS-Harris poll found that 47% of likely voters said they would vote for Joe Biden if the election were held today, and 45% said they would back Donald Trump.
We can’t allow the margin to be this close. James Carville, a veteran Democratic strategist, warned us that “if this election is remotely close, [Republicans] will steal it,” just as they did in 2000 when the Supreme Court stopped an ongoing vote count in order to hand the election to George W. Bush -- even though Al Gore had won the popular vote.
The GOP is now able to repeat that strategy, especially with a strong conservative majority on the Supreme Court and the lies Trump has manufactured to make his base doubt the outcome of the election.
But there’s one way we can stop the GOP from succeeding in their anti-democratic assault. According to Carville, “the only protection that Democrats have is they have to win by such a margin that makes it impossible for [the GOP] to overturn the election.” Right now we don’t have anything close to the margin of victory we’ll need to do that. That’s why we’re reaching out to Democratic supporters now to get a firm answer on this crucial question:
