KIDS CREW VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
Kids Crew is one of the many unique opportunities offered in our Volunteer Program at Alliance For Children. As part of this opportunity, volunteers are invited to walk alongside us in our mission to serve children who have been impacted by the trauma of child abuse.  Alliance For Children and our volunteers partner with the Department of Family and Protective Services to sit with children who have been admitted to Cook Children's Medical Center due to severe abuse or neglect.
Due to the circumstances and strict visitation guidelines for these children, families are not always allowed to have visitation during the child's hospital stay. Kids Crew volunteers are asked to invest themselves in the lives of these children by visiting and providing individual attention while also providing relief to the nurses and hospital staff who are caring for these young patients.
The healing of a child broken by abuse includes more than caring for their physical wounds and medical needs. Kids Crew volunteers provide loving attention and nurturing that helps restore hope and rebuild trust for children impacted by abuse-related trauma.
Kids Crew volunteers provide love and attention which makes a tremendous impact for these children at such a critical time in their lives. Our volunteers are instrumental in helping to nurture these children and, perhaps without even understanding the value of their care, help to build the child’s capacity for healthy emotional development and attachment.
Every hour spent with a child by each volunteer increases the chance for both physical and emotional healing for that child.  Recognizing the collective investment made by all the volunteers during a child’s hospital stay is nothing short of amazing.
