The stakes are high and refugees need you to take action.

John,

We will not let this shocking development get lost in the news or in your inbox. Because we know you care about refugees.

With 1% of humanity now forcibly displaced, there are more refugees around the world today than ever before — and resettlement is the last live-saving option for thousands fleeing tyranny, war and persecution.

Despite the longstanding, bipartisan legacy in the U.S. of offering safe haven to those fleeing violence, tyranny and persecution, the Trump administration is turning its back on refugees.

BREAKING NEWS:
The Trump administration has proposed a historically low goal of just 15,000 refugees for fiscal year 2021, even lower than last year's goal of 18,000 — and set highly restrictive categories of admission that will bar refugees from some of the world's largest crises, and especially Black and Muslim refugees.

Meanwhile, global need is rising, with over 1.4 million of the most vulnerable refugees in need of resettlement.

Further, the critical deadline of September 30th has passed, a dangerous move that has halted all refugee arrivals for the time being. Until the president signs his proposed number of 15k into law, a historically low goal, resettlement will still be barred.

By taking action you will make sure that the administration and our representatives know that you want the U.S. to be a global leader in providing safety to refugees once again. I hope you'll join me.

With this action, the Trump administration has closed the door on thousands of refugees like Jacqueline.

Jacqueline Uwumeremyi, 43, fled from the Democratic Republic of Congo to South Africa because of violence. As refugees, she and her family faced constant xenophobia and feared for their lives. When she was finally resettled with her five children in Boise, Idaho, she "felt love for the first time."

Stand with refugees like Jacqueline by taking action with me today.
