Dear John,

Eight-year-old Xitlali had always been active, constantly trying to
keep up with her older brothers. But this spring, after days of a
climbing fever, she couldn't keep her eyes open. Her family began to
worry. When she began hallucinating spiders crawling on her and a dog
trying to bite her, they knew something was very wrong.

An urgent trip to Children's Hospital Los Angeles discovered the
cause: Xitlali had multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children
(MIS-C), an illness associated with exposure to COVID-19. Xitlali's
parents were stunned and terrified.

One of the few things that can give parents hope in a moment like this
is having a team of the country's best medical experts on their side.

You can help make hopeful moments possible
with a gift that goes twice as far to provide leading medical care.
Every dollar donated to the Children's Fund will be matched, up to
$100,000-but only until midnight tomorrow.

Immediately after Xitlali's diagnosis, our full team of
experts-specialists from intensive care, infectious diseases,
cardiology, endocrinology, immunology, rheumatology and
hematology-jumped in to untangle the symptoms of her illness.

When your child is sick, you want to know there's a team dedicated to
saving her life. I'm so proud to be part of the team that helped
Xitlali get better. Every parent deserves the relief that comes with
their child receiving the best care, and your gift provides those
resources for more families like Xitlali's.

Can you chip in today with a gift of $10 or
more? Give to the Children's Fund by tomorrow at
midnight and your gift will be doubled, thanks to an anonymous donor.

Xitlali recently celebrated her ninth birthday, and because of our
interventions and treatments, she is thankfully symptom-free. Your
support makes this work possible and helps us save the lives of
countless children like Xitlali.

Thank you for your support!!
