October 3X match now active? ? ? ? ? Friend ? alarming news from our team in Michigan, where Senator Gary Peters ? an environmental champion ? is facing John James, a Trump-endorsed candidate backed by the Koch network.

Over the summer, Peters had a double-digit lead ? but one of the latest polls shows the two candidates tied at 47% each.

The same is true for the presidential race ? Biden held a large lead in Michigan ? but now we're watching closely to see if Trump could really be closing that gap.

Michigan is considered a must-win ? we can't retake an environmental majority in the Senate if we lose seats. We also can't let Trump pull a last-minute upset in Michigan like he did in 2016 ? this is his path to reelection.

Voters throughout the state are already turning in their ballots ? we don't have much time to turn this race's momentum around. This is urgent. A group of LCV Victory Fund supporters has just stepped up with an extra contribution pool, triple-matching every gift to fund GOTV efforts in the final month before the election, up to $150,000.

Your emergency contribution will go directly to helping win tight races in states like Michigan. Every contribution will be triple-matched ? even $3 is enough to make a difference ? [link removed]

We've long known this race was going to be razor-thin. Michigan was the closest state in the 2016 presidential election ? Trump won it by just a little over 10,000 votes.

Sen. Peters has a strong record on the environment and protecting Michigan's most vulnerable communities ? fighting to protect residents from toxic PFAS chemicals and working to upgrade Flint's water infrastructure. He's earned a perfect 100% score in LCV's National Environmental Scorecard for the last five years, and is the type of champion for environmental justice we need in the Senate.

This record is why polluters are lining up behind his challenger John James. James opposes climate action and says he supports Trump's agenda "2,000%." He even spoke at a Trump rally in Michigan last month, where he was endorsed by the president.

We can't let John James take a Senate seat that could be a pivotal vote on climate legislation or judicial nominations. Please make a gift now to help win a pro-environment Senate and White House. EVERY gift is triple-matched through the end of the month ? [link removed]

Reaching the $150,000 goal would be HUGE for building out our GOTV and vote-by-mail programs in Michigan and other states crucial to the control of the Senate like Iowa, Maine, and North Carolina. We don't want to have to cut back on our plans in any close race, even though we need to direct more resources to states like Michigan where the polls are getting tighter.

Bottom line ? we need your help as soon as possible to make this last month count. If we can raise $150,000 and take full advantage of this new triple-match offer, we can scale up voter turnout operations in Michigan and other states and flip the Senate.

If everyone reading this right now pitched in ? even $3 ? we'd blow through that goal in minutes. All contributions are being triple matched today? [link removed]

In a race this tight, every little thing we do matters, for both control of the Senate, and for whether or not we have a disastrous Trump second-term. I don't want to wake up after Election Day and see any anti-environment politicians winning Michigan ? and I know you don't either.

Let's win Michigan, and with it a pro-environment Senate and White House. Thanks for sticking with us and doing whatever it takes this month.
