Hello Friend,

During this time, feeling uncertain and afraid isn't unusual. But before you lose hope, I want you to remember: 1. the situation we're facing in this country is NOT hopeless and 2. You are not alone.

In the U.S., there are more than 76 million young people between the ages of 18 and 35, and our numbers are growing. With that growth comes strength in numbers and — most importantly — political power. Our attention, activism, and our votes (ESPECIALLY our votes) will shape the future for decades to come.

At URGE, we work primarily at the local level to educate voters and drive their engagement. I'm voting in the 2020 General Election not only because I have the privilege of voting, but because I want to do everything I can to help my community by voting for candidates who will actually serve the people. Remember, local officials vote on local policies that affect reproductive health, rights and justice, such as defunding the police, paid sick leave, sex ed, and non-discrimination laws. That’s why we must vote.

Our communities depend on us, and we need to take care of one another.

2020 is a big year to show up for our communities, and one of the biggest ways you can show up for your community is by going to the polls and casting your ballot on November 3rd.

PS, tell us why you are planning to #VoteLocal this November. I would love to hear why you are voting this year. You can email back or tag us on Instagram/facebook/twitter or even TikTok and we will repost so you can help get more folks hyped for voting.
