Hi there -- Right before last night's presidential debate ended, Donald Trump said the quiet part out loud: he wants to intimidate voters at the polls.

"I am urging my supporters to go into the polls and watch very carefully because that's what has to happen. I am urging them to do it." -- Donald Trump

A.G. Holder, and the rest of our team, warned you about voter suppression tactics like this in some emails this month.

After the Republican National Committee announced their scheme to recruit 50,000 poll watchers to suppress the vote, we set a mid-month goal of raising $50,000. But we fell short of reaching our mid-month goal.

Now that President Trump has doubled down on his commitment to intimidate voters this fall, we need your help hitting this benchmark.

Our fundraising team will be crunching the numbers tomorrow and what we raise will help determine how we continue combating voter suppression schemes. Will you pitch in now and help us hit our goal?

Standing up to voter suppression tactics this fall is a key step to achieving fair maps for the next decade -- so we must be prepared to combat schemes like these.

Thanks for stepping up,
Jake

72 hours to raise $50,000 >>> [link removed]

Hi friend -- We've told you that the Republican National Committee is spending $20 million on a scheme to suppress the vote. But the point that we probably should've stressed is that it involves hiring an intimidation force of 50,000 people to monitor polling stations.

This is the exact type of voter suppression tactic -- ahead of the last round of elections before redistricting -- that A.G. Holder warned about when he emailed you this month.

"Too many politicians are out of step with their constituents and scared that they'll lose fair elections -- so they suppress votes and manipulate maps to protect their power." -- A.G. Holder

As extreme politicians recruit 50,000 poll watchers to suppress the vote, we set a mid-month goal of raising $50,000 over the next three days to fight against their efforts to make it harder to vote. Will you help us end voter intimidation schemes like these that A.G. Holder warned us about?

The threat to hire 50,000 poll watchers is meant to intimidate voters and place more barriers in front of Americans who already face unprecedented challenges to casting their ballots.

Thankfully, the AOTL team is prepared for schemes like these -- and knows achieving fair maps will be a group effort.

In addition to fighting voter suppression schemes like these, we're supporting grassroots advocates on the ground and working tirelessly in our target states ahead of this fall and the 2021 redistricting cycle.

But our work requires resources -- and that's where you come in! Will you donate -- whatever makes sense to you -- to help us raise $50,000 before our mid-month deadline on Wednesday? We only have 72 hours to hit this fundraising goal!

The task of protecting our democracy right now is vitally important. And if we organize together, work together, and persevere together, we can restore our democracy to the people!
