If you watched the debate last night like I did, you know that we have to do everything we can to get Joe Biden into that White House.
But when he gets there, we need to make sure that he has a legislature ready to help execute his vision. That's why today I'm writing you on behalf of two of my future colleagues so that they can have the strongest possible showing on their final quarterly FEC report before Election Day.
Dr. Cameron Webb is exactly the kind of leader we need in Congress. Growing up, his parents encouraged all of their children to dream big and work hard—lessons that Cameron carries with him today. After finishing medical school and law school, he served on the White House Health Care Team and also worked on President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper initiative, where he helped tackle issues in education, workforce development and criminal justice reform. As a practicing physician, he treats patients as a general internist, teaches students and serves as the Director of Health Policy and Equity at UVA’s School of Medicine. Now, Cameron is running for Congress to serve his community at this critical time. In Washington, he will be a fierce advocate to ensure opportunities for health and success for all Americans.
Marilyn Strickland is a proud graduate of Tacoma Public Schools and has a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Washington. she went on to earn an MBA from Clark-Atlanta University, a Historically Black College and University. As Mayor of Tacoma, she helped transform a city and economy crippled by a deep recession into a destination for families, workers, artists, tourists and entrepreneurs. She attracted over $1 billion in investment for housing and businesses, and invested over $500 million in infrastructure for roads, bridges, transportation, and the Port, creating over 40,000 new jobs in the Tacoma region. She also led successful efforts to raise the minimum wage and pass paid sick leave, paving the way for statewide action. In Congress, she will bring the experience of rebuilding an economy after an economic recession, and continue to be a strong voice for change to ensure that we can help the most vulnerable members of our community and ensure we have an economy that works for all of us.
The deadline is tonight at midnight. Every little bit helps. Thank you for all you do.
