Last night, President Trump became completely unhinged. Instead of defending his record, he tried to distract with interruptions and lies.
We need a president and a Senate that can stay focused on addressing the current health crisis, healing our country, and making people’s lives better.
Instead, Trump’s GOP is focused laser-focused on flipping Colorado red, and with control of the Senate on the line we need to make sure we have the resources to stand up to Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell’s near constant attacks.
When Mitch became majority leader he claimed he wanted to “restore the Senate to the place our founders in their wisdom had intended.”
But what he’s done to the Senate couldn’t be further from that. It’s no understatement to say he’s taking a knife to our civic institutions, degrading the highest legislative body in the nation for partisan gain.
I’m committed to doing everything possible to restore the Senate back to a body that reflects the best of America, but it will take all of us working together to defeat Trump and McConnell.
