When you first elected me as Mayor, I made a promise to myself that I would never forget the good we can do.

Even now, it's hard to forget that, growing up, I was on free and reduced lunch or that my Dad couldn't afford field trips. I will never take for granted that I was built by public schools.

That's why I fought for expanded after-school programs, three new schools in Black and Brown neighborhoods, and increased funding for school counselors. It's why I want to make sure every voter knows the progress we’ve made for Richmond Public Schools (RPS), as well as my plan to offer free Pre-K for every child in Richmond.

I want every child in Richmond to have the same opportunities I did growing up. We just launched our latest TV ad diving into my work for RPS, and we need your help spreading our message across Richmond.
