Dear John, Enough is enough. Canada’s oil lobby - the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) - has spent millions of dollars working to block climate action, water down regulations and hide the truth about the oil industry’s impact. CAPP’s relentless pressure on the federal government has helped Canada to fail on every climate target ever set. CAPP continues to lie to Canadians and spread misinformation, clouding the debate about the future of Canada’s oil industry. CAPP does not represent the best interests of Canadians. It’s time to take a stand. |
Earlier this year they took a major hit when oil giant Total left the association over CAPP’s divisive climate change policies. Now is our chance to hit CAPP where it hurts and convince Shell, one of the biggest oil companies in the world, to do the right thing for Canadians by also ending its support to CAPP. |
Shell claims it wants to be part of the climate solution, but by funding CAPP it is working against climate progress. It’s time for Shell to put its money where its mouth is. Take on the oil lobby: tell Shell to Dump CAPP. In solidarity, |
