Take a page out of Barack Obama’s book.

This past week, President Barack Obama released his second and final slate of 2020 election endorsements. As he said in his announcement, he’s backing candidates who are “dedicated to showing up and strengthening our democracy, a project that’s going to take time and require all of us.”

He’s right, and here’s the thing: the planet doesn’t have much time. The planet needs these leaders who respect science, data, and facts NOW.

Part of why Obama chose this specific list of candidates is because they are guided by science and data. In fact, these candidates are experts in their fields. Take Mark Kelly in Arizona: As a U.S. Navy combat pilot and an astronaut who flew four Space Shuttle missions, Kelly knows the importance of teamwork, reliance on science, and seeing a mission through. He’s dedicated to fighting climate change, and he’s running for a seat named “most likely to flip.”

Obama’s other endorsements include candidates who have seen the effects of climate change in their communities and are dedicated to sustainability at the local level. This includes MJ Hegar (US Senate), Padma Kuppa (MI HD-41), Patricia Sigman (FL SD-09), Lindsey Port (MN SD-56), and Jonathon Hansen (WI SD-30).

But these candidates cannot do it alone. It’s going to take everyone: what can you give today? ([link removed])
