In 2018, our campaign knocked on thousands of doors and I heard from voters across the district. I wanted to work to elevate those voices any way I could, even after the elections were over. So, I made several attempts to reach Representative Donna Shalala here in Florida’s 27th District and take the concerns of supporters like you to her in the hope of asking for change. But change didn’t come.

After a year of trying to encourage some of our elected officials to use their political will to enact policy to help everyday working-class people – I am sad to report that it’s not happening.

You won’t catch me waffling. My message is clear and I am ready to take it all the way to the polls:
I’m for Florida leading the way in clean energy policy, renewable energy initiatives, and a Green New Deal vs Our Congresswoman, who has not even considered co-sponsoring the resolution


I’m fighting for improved and expanded Medicare for All vs Our Congresswoman’s stance that we should take a more incremental approach and that it’s okay to continue accepting contributions from insurance companies


I’m for removing big money from politics and will accept no PAC Money vs Our Congresswoman has accepted more than $108,000 in this election cycle alone

I would like to push our democracy and country forward with more progressive approaches vs Our Congresswoman’s perspective that being a Centrist is the best way

I’m proud to be back on the Brand New Congress Slate for 2020 to carry this message forward as a member of the BNC community. My fellow slate mate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has kept her promises as a Representative, and I can’t wait to fight beside her on Capitol Hill.

It’s time to build on the support we gained last cycle and turn it into votes. It’s time for us to harness the urgency of now. 2020 is OUR time to win!

Shirley Chisholm said, “If you don’t have a seat at the table, you bring your own chair.” It’s time we had a voice where decisions are being made. I’m ready to get out there and fight for everyone to have a voice.
