I know the look. It’s the look he gets whenever he’s deep in a legal case that will decide if justice is served for a battered woman. It’s the look he gets after coming home from meeting with inmates as chaplain. That look in his eyes is one of stress, but the stress is never about him. No – his stress grows from his concern for others and wondering if he’ll be able to make their lives better.

I saw the look today, as we were talking about the election approaching, which is why I wanted to write to you.

Today is the final day of the quarter, which means at midnight Qasim will know how much money he’ll have going into the last month of the election. He has a real chance to bring fresh, clear-eyed leadership to Congress for our district, but it’s up to all of us doing everything we can.
