Hello — I need to explain something.

At the end of every quarter, elected officials like me have to report their fundraising details to the FEC and make all of our numbers public.

Everyone from Donald Trump to Mitch McConnell will see how much money we’ve raised and, most importantly, how many folks have pitched in.

That’s why these deadlines are so important. I’ll be honest, however, I haven’t had a whole lot of time to keep up with our fundraising with everything that’s going on. But I’m looking at these numbers right now, and it’s clear we’re a bit behind on our goal for the quarter.

We’re running out of time to turn things around, which is why I’m asking for your help. Our final quarterly deadline is tonight at midnight. Will you make a contribution — of any amount — to get us back on track to hit our target before then?
