John, Voting is underway in North Carolina! Many North Carolinians are voting by mail, and NC’s early voting period is starting soon. There are a variety of options this year for voting safely and easily: voting by mail (absentee voting), early voting, or voting on election day. We encourage you to make a plan now, especially if you are going to vote by mail. With the state’s new tracking website, Ballottrax, you can even track your absentee ballot! If you decide to vote by mail, make sure to carefully read the instructions, and have a witness complete and sign the return envelope in the “Witness’s Certification” space. This page has accurate, detailed information about voting by mail. Did you know that you also can hand deliver your absentee ballot to your county Board of Elections or at an early voting site in your county? If you wish to vote in person, early voting may be your best option since the lines are not as long as on Election Day. To find early voting sites in your county, go to www.ncvoter.org or call 1-888-OUR-VOTE. That website is run by Democracy NC and has everything that you need to know about voting. If you still have questions, call 1-888-OUR-VOTE and they can answer your questions. Your vote is your voice.
