I can’t begin to count the number of people I know who have been driven to action by Ady's work.

John,

My close friend, Ady Barkan, is dying. Three years ago, he was diagnosed with ALS. In the last week alone, he’s been hospitalized twice. It will only get worse from here. It’s not an easy thing to admit — or even write in an email. But it’s the truth.

What Ady has done since his diagnosis has been incredible. He has traveled around the country organizing for healthcare for all with incredible bravery and moral clarity. As his legs fail, he has inspired others to march for him. As his voice falters, others must speak up for him.

This month, Ady is releasing a memoir about his lifelong activism, and how his terminal ALS diagnosis reignited his passion to fight for decency for all people. We’re partnering with Ady on a special offer for our supporters to help him reach as many people as possible with his story, and I wanted to share it with you today:

If you make a donation of $25 or more on this form, we’ll send you a hardcover copy of Ady’s book, Eyes to the Wind: A Memoir of Love and Death, Hope and Resistance. (That’s cheaper than the cover price and it also helps WFP!)

Ady’s story is one of the most inspiring that I know. I can’t begin to count the number of people I know who have been driven to action by his work, and my hope — from the bottom of my heart — is that the release of this memoir does the same thing.

I hope you’ll order a copy today.

In solidarity,

Joe Dinkin

P.S. Ady’s book has a foreword written by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and has been hailed by leaders like Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, as well as journalist Chris Hayes. This is a must-read for progressives this year. Order your copy now:
