I’m going to shoot straight with you. Today is the end of the fundraising quarter for candidates and you are going to receive a lot of e-mails from those running for office asking you to make a contribution.

It’s going to be a long day.

You may get two or three from a single candidate or even one or two every hour. It can be overwhelming with all the different candidates running for all the many offices.

Robin and I receive these e-mails as well, but to be honest, these e-mails are important because every candidate has fundraising goals that must be met, and the money that is raised from these e-mails does help show the strength of their campaign.

John, if you are going to act on one of these e-mails today, I hope you will act on this one and make a contribution to my campaign before midnight tonight. ([link removed])

My goal for today is not tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars. It is $5,000 – significant money that will help my campaign do what it needs to do these last 34 days.

Most campaigns won’t tell you what they are going to do with the money that is raised online, but I will. My campaign has identified undecided voting groups and the issues they care about and have put together a targeted plan to inform these voters and get them to the polls. You have my commitment that every single dollar that is contributed online today will go towards mailings and digital ads to these undecided voters.
