Adam Hughes from Julie's Field Team here.
On Monday, we got some enormous news. The DCCC put Julie on its highly-competitive 'Red to Blue' program, which is aimed at arming top-tier candidates with the resources needed to flip targeted congressional seats.
For a scrappy grassroots campaign like ours that doesn't take PAC money to have pushed this race to a statistical tie, and then for Julie to have proven that she has what it takes to flip this seat and to be recognized in this way is truly a monumental achievement.
But we're not running to score a moral victory, or to push this district from a little less red to little more blue.
We're running this race to win.
You know as well as I do that Texas needs a fighter in Congress who can achieve real victories for our communities -- healthcare for every single Texan, including dental and vision, good-paying jobs, real action on climate change, and rebuilding our economy so that it works for all of us, not just those at the top. And that's Julie.
To pull this off, we need you with us this week, hitting the phones. This is tough, rewarding work, but I promise you that at the end of your shift you will have made a huge impact.
Being a 'Red to Blue' campaign means that there's going to be a whole lot of new negative and misleading Republican ads going up on the air spreading lies about Williams and trash-talking Julie. Our team is going toe-to-toe with them with our own TV and digital ads, but our real advantage comes from our organizing muscle. Nothing beats direct voter contact, and this week, there are tons of opportunities to talk to real Texans about Julie's positive campaign on our virtual phone banks.
We've got five weeks until Election Day. Get on the phones with us this week.
Thanks for all you're doing,
Adam Hughes
