Dear John,
[[link removed]] My name is Anna and I’m an organizer with Emgage Michigan. Once you hear my story, I know you’ll see the impact your support can have. Today is the last day of September and I’m asking you to donate today to ensure we hit our end-of-month goals and engage more young people like me in this election.
After volunteering for a presidential campaign, I felt so empowered by being so closely engaged with my community, but afterwards, I felt like I couldn’t really stay as politically involved as I’d like. I was pursuing a career path in veterinary science — which seemed so different than working in politics.
Nada, the Emgage Michigan Executive Director, told me I was mistaken.
She explained that the goal of Emgage Action is to empower individuals from different backgrounds and social spheres to become more civically engaged, and this is exactly what my experience has been working with Emgage.
Will you support Emgage today to ensure we can civically engage more young people like me? [[link removed]]
Because of Emgage, I have been able to network with individuals from all walks of life who are pursuing all sorts of career paths, but who are nevertheless just as energized about making an impact as I am.
Through the phone calls I’ve made, I’ve been able to connect to and lift the spirits of individuals in my Arab-American and Muslim community who felt fatigued with the modern political system, and who needed to hear some motivational words.
Will you contribute $10.00 right now to fund outreach to communities like mine in crucial states across the country? [[link removed]]
Working in politics is not easy. It takes passion and guts to go out into the world and advocate for what you believe in.
But, focusing on the positive impact being made on people’s lives makes every second worth it. My time working with Emgage has only ignited my passion for making a difference even further.
I plan on remaining civically engaged for the rest of my life — regardless of what career path I pursue.
In the meantime, we're working hard to turn out a million Muslim voters. I can't believe we have just over a month left until the election.
I am doing everything I can to mobilize Muslim voters in historic numbers, but Emgage still has to raise $6,154 to reach our end-of-month goal and ensure that organizers like me in swing states turn out the vote and make a difference in this election.
Our fundraising today impacts our budgeting decisions for the rest of the election.
