New Politics is poised to help elect more servant leaders than ever. Can we count on your support? | Email not displaying correctly? View it in your browser [link removed]
Friends,
Tonight, many of us will be watching the presidential debate. For some Americans, this first meeting between the candidates will mark the beginning of the election season, but for our team and our candidates, the coming weeks are the final stretch of a road we set out on long ago. I wanted to share an update on our progress this election cycle and also ask for your support at this critical moment for our politics and for our democracy » [link removed]
• This cycle, we set an ambitious goal to support over 100 servant leaders running for office. In addition to the endorsements we announce publicly, our team of advisors support all aspects of our candidates’ campaigns — from fundraising to communications to organizing to leadership coaching and team building.
• This summer, we released a new video that explains the challenge for which this organization was established to confront and how our work is already making a difference. Watch the video → [link removed]
• This month, we launched a podcast featuring conversations with servant leaders who are answering the call to serve again in politics. The segments provide a forum to share some of our candidates’ inspiring stories, and they’ll hopefully demystify the process of running for office.
• Also this month, we published an open letter signed by nearly 250 veterans of the military and national security community, and Gold Star Family members.. The signatories, which included state and federal officeholders from coast to coast, affirmed that the oath they swore “was to something bigger than any one party, politician, or even President — it was for our posterity.”
• Amid the unprecedented challenges posed by the pandemic, we’ve supported candidates as their campaigns have adapted — not just to running a remote, virtual, or socially-distanced race, but as they’ve answered the call to serve their communities through public health awareness, wellness checks, meal deliveries, domestic deployments to build hospitals, and in other ways. As the month ends and campaigns face a financial filing deadline, I’m sure that like me, you’re getting bombarded with appeals for support. I humbly ask that as you consider donating to candidates you want to help elect, you’ll also consider investing $50, $25, or whatever you can in our movement so we can continue revitalizing our democracy.
