I can hardly believe that we’re just four days away from electing our new leader and beginning the next chapter of the Green Party of Canada.

I’ll admit, organizing a leadership contest is a big job and pulling it off during a pandemic, no less. I am extremely honoured to have been able to take part in it and I thank everyone who has worked tirelessly through this whole process. 

There's one other thing they don’t tell you about running a solid campaign. It takes resources. This is why I'm throwing my support into the Green Breakthrough Fund (GBF). It’s the best way that you can back up innovative Green ideas because like me, you’ll be supporting our new leader while they put forward their (and your) vision for the future of the party.

Our contestants have run incredible campaigns, and they’ve done it all virtually, which is even more impressive. Many have said that we are spoiled for choice this voting period and I have to agree, as Greens we should all be proud of what we have done here.

And now for the first time in 13 years, we have an opportunity to contribute to policies seen through a new perspective, one that will make Green voices even stronger for the next federal election.

I know you’re just as excited as I am to see the results on Saturday (October 3) so I wanted to let you in on some of what we’ve got planned. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has made gathering together almost impossible. And the safety of our contestants, supporters, volunteers and staff is of utmost importance through this crisis. 

But you can join us virtually! We’ll be sending you more details in the days to come but make sure you mark your calendars for a once in a decade live event.
