John,

This election will determine the future of care in this country for years to come, so it’s more important than ever that all family caregivers and people receiving care are able to vote.

But, as with seemingly everything this year, the ongoing pandemic will make Election Day even more challenging.

That’s why Caring Across Generations created a nonpartisan Voter Guide to help ensure that you can vote safely — by mail, early, or in person on Election Day — wherever you are.

Before you watch tonight’s debate, make your plan to vote using our Voter Guide. You can even check your voter registration status and register to vote on the site.

At Caring Across Generations, we see voting as one key way to make certain that the values we hold dear are reflected in our elected leadership.

We know that caregivers and care recipients struggle to get to the polls. One in five have said voting is difficult because of caregiving responsibilities that are worsened by structural issues and regressive laws that particularly affect Black and Latinx voters.

That’s why it’s essential that as many caregivers as possible are able to cast their votes!

This election is going to determine the care agenda for decades to come, and your voice is critically important. We’re asking that all family caregivers and people who care about care pledge to vote by Election Day, November 3, 2020.

After you submit your pledge, you will receive PDFs of our "Voting while Caregiving" and "Voting while Receiving Long Term Supports and Services" checklists to help you make your plan.

Check out our Voter Guide. Pledge to vote. Make your plan. And please, please be sure to vote by Election Day, November 3.

With care,

Mayra López-Zuñiga
State Organizing Manager
