Friend,
I just got off a call with Speaker Pelosi, and she again emphasized the importance of races like mine in the state of Pennsylvania this year--this time, in the context of what happens with the Electoral College.

Pennsylvania is the one state with an even number of Democrats and Republicans in Congress, and if we lose even one seat, it could jeopardize winning the electoral college. If the presidential race ends up with a tied electoral college, the race is decided by each state’s congressional delegation, which votes for who gets that state’s vote. Each state only gets ONE vote, no matter how many members of Congress there are for that state.
If we can pick up a seat, then Dems have more weight, and, of course, it is ESSENTIAL that we not lose any seats in PA. My race is the most competitive one for an incumbent in PA, and that is exactly why the Speaker and I were talking. She has been enormously supportive of my race, and continues to be, and I am very grateful to her for that.
It’s been an honor working with her to fight for affordable healthcare, higher wages, COVID relief, and to stand up to Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump’s far-right agenda.
My final End-of-Quarter deadline for the entire campaign is just 2 days away, but we’re still $8,344 short of our fundraising goal. Can you rush a contribution before the deadline (even $10 helps) to keep PA-07 blue?

As Speaker Pelosi said, we cannot afford to lose PA-07. Republicans, of course, are hoping to pick this seat up to give themselves the majority in the PA delegation. We cannot let that happen, because too much is at stake. I hope I can count on your support.
Thank you,
Susan
