John —

We’re running out of time. The EPA is hoping to maintain its outdated and inadequate ozone pollution standards. Ozone, or as we usually call it, smog, is harmful to breathe and kills Americans every year. We need you to join us in calling on the EPA to strengthen these standards before the comment deadline on October 1st.

Last week we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Clean Air Act, a law that has saved the lives of 230,000 adults and 280 infants. This pivotal environmental protection has limited pollution and kept our air clean. However, the EPA’s attempt to roll back progress actively threatens our health, communities, and the Clean Air Act’s legacy.

That’s why we need a more stringent standard for ozone. We must protect the people exposed to this harmful pollutant and save lives. This is not only about public health; we can also increase economic opportunity and productivity by reducing lost work and school days due to pollution-caused illness. Add your voice and tell the EPA to listen to science and adopt a stronger ozone standard.

Our fight for cleaner air isn’t just about protecting the environment; it’s also about tackling the fact that systemic racism impacts our health, wealth, and even the air we breathe. In their 2020 state of the air report, the American Lung Association found that nearly half of the country lives in counties with a failing grade for ozone—of those 20 million people, 70% are people of color.

We don’t have to live this way.  Our communities shouldn’t have to be burdened with dirty air and poor health forever. We have solutions to decrease pollution and save lives. Join us in urging the EPA to adopt pollution standards that are strong enough to protect the health of the most vulnerable and deploy clean energy solutions.

Thanks for taking action,
—the Green For All team

P.S. Check out our team testifying at the EPA hearing on ozone, calling for stronger clean air standards for all.
