Right-wing extremists have been working to undermine Roe v Wade since it was decided in 1973. From cutting funding for Planned Parenthood, to forcing the dangerous Gag Rule on doctors, to packing the courts with anti-choice radicals, they've shown themselves willing to go to any length to turn back time on reproductive freedom and choice.

Now, with Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell scheming to rush a nomination through on the eve of the election, and replace pioneering Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg with regressive extremist Amy Coney Barrett, reproductive health care faces the greatest threat in a generation.

The best way to safeguard our rights? Resolve the issue in the letter of the law. Congress must pass a bold, unambiguous law protecting the right of every individual to make their own reproductive choices. And Congress must prohibit any government entity from denying, interfering with, or discriminating against that choice.

The radical right knows that it's up to Congress. That's why they're pouring so much money into our race; they know my opponent will be a dutiful pawn who'll toe the party line and vote "no" on any effort to protect the right to choose. In fact, Alek Skarlatos has already said he wants to defund Planned Parenthood and severely limit access to essential reproductive care. He is even endorsed by Oregon Right to Life - an organization that condemns the right to choose even in cases of rape or incest.

Now, with anti-choice radical Amy Coney Barrett heading toward the Supreme Court, Alek and his backers could get their way.

I have always said that patients - and their doctors - have the right to make their own health care decisions, and I'm proud of my reputation as a vocal pro-choice leader in Congress. My record has earned a 100% rating from NARAL; in fact, I'm the only candidate in this race endorsed by Planned Parenthood Action Fund and NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon. In fact, Alek is endorsed by the extremist group Oregon Right to Life, that is against reproductive health care even in cases of rape or incest.

It's crucial that we hold the House, flip the Senate, and take back the White House this year and I'll be working overtime to elect a pro-choice Congress. And when we win, I'll be leading the charge to safeguard the right to choose by passing a clear law that protects reproductive rights, and keeps health care decisions between you and your doctor.
