Dear friend,

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, about half of U.S. families had trouble finding child care. That figure jumped to nearly two-thirds this spring, as child care programs closed nationwide, and people were told to stay home. In order for our recovery from the pandemic to be equitable, we must fight for child care relief for families and child care providers. The Care That Works coalition, convened by CLU, is providing information and launching a program for families in need of child care. Join us for the two events below to learn more about our efforts.

Care That Works Pilot Program Launch
Join us for a virtual press conference, as we launch the Care That Works Pilot program, offering child care during nonstandard work hours, starting with early morning care.

Informational Training on Child Care and Unemployment Insurance
We are hosting an informational training session on Child Care and Unemployment Insurance. Join us to learn about unemployment benefits for workers with child care challenges and to ask questions. We will be joined by Monica Halas from Greater Boston Legal Services, and Bob Bower and John Drinkwater from the MA AFL-CIO.
Tuesday, October 6, 2020, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Click here ([link removed]) to RSVP. A Zoom link will be sent to all who RSVP.

Together we can help meet families’ immediate child care needs while fighting for a child care system that benefits the public good. Thank you for your continued support.

In Solidarity,
Lindsay McCluskey
