Hi there --

All across the country, corporations are shelling out millions in dark money to target Democratic AGs in 2020 -- so I need to be ready to fight back.

You won't be surprised to hear that some big corporations don't take oversight and forced accountability well. They'll use every tool they have -- including dark money contributions -- to avoid accountability.

When you take on as many powerful special interests as I have, you develop a target on your back.

For example, when one multi-billion dollar corporation deceived Washingtonians, I filed a lawsuit. After a trial, the judge ordered this powerful corporation to pay roughly $4 million to Washington state and stop its deceptive practices. This was a major victory for Washingtonians, but as the saying goes, "no good deed goes unpunished."

Not long afterwards, this entity pledged millions of dollars to the Republican Attorneys General Association. Reuters reported at the time that this money came with a condition -- the Republican Attorneys General Association needed to change its policy and begin targeting incumbent attorneys general.

RAGA did just that. Since then, RAGA has flooded the airwaves with negative ads in states with Democratic elected attorneys general. For example, RAGA just spent $3.25 million in the Kentucky AG's race -- with months to go before the election.

Washington will be next. Powerful special interests will seek to replace me with an attorney general like my opponent -- one who won't hold their corporate donors accountable, or stand up to President Trump when he harms Washingtonians. Thanks to your help, I survived $3 million in dark money negative ads in 2012, but 2020 will make that look like a drop in the bucket. (I may have to tell my mom to turn off the television.)

That's why I'm asking for your help.

Our team has set another ambitious goal for the month: 2,000 contributions by the end of September. I need our grassroots network to step up and help us meet this goal. Can you strengthen our campaign against corporate influence by giving just $1 today?
