Justice Ginsburg's legacy is under attack.
Hi there,
My life would not be the same without Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
I've been thinking about her legacy this past week, and I keep coming back to this: Justice Ginsburg fought throughout her career to give women options.
And those options — those choices — are what Republicans are going to attack with full force if they hold the Senate and successfully stack the Supreme Court this year.
I need you to be a part of the work to stop them. Donate $3 now to help replace anti-choice Republicans with pro-choice Democratic women.
Just 15 years before EMILY's List was founded, abortion was not legal. A woman could not hold a credit card without a male co-signer. A woman could be fired for being pregnant. This was the environment in which the founding mothers of EMILY's List and I held basement meetings, planning an organization that could affect real, lasting change for women through electoral politics.
And it was in this environment that Ruth Bader Ginsburg rose to prominence.
Justice Ginsburg was not confirmed to the Supreme Court until the 1990s, but the cases she took on prior to her appointment created the legal language for fighting gender-based discrimination that holds to this day.
My career has been made possible by the choices I've been able to freely make, under the protection of the law. Republican leadership have made very clear they want to take those choices away.
That is our fight in the coming weeks — and has been our fight since 1985. Elect more women. Protect choice.
The fiscal quarter ends tomorrow night, and we have a big deadline to get support to our women. Donate $3 now to help EMILY's List candidates WIN:

Thank you, Justice Ginsburg, for giving us options. And thank YOU, friend, for helping to protect those choices.
