John -- we've known for a long time President Trump is unfit to serve in the White House, but his most recent comments denouncing a peaceful transfer of power take his disregard for our democratic values to a new and dangerous level.

Our Founding Fathers made a point in our Constitution to ensure that no president could lead our country like a king, unchecked by the co-equal branches of government.
Trump's comments are a threat to the very foundation of our democracy.

That's what's at stake in 2020: Our democracy. And equal rights, civil rights, voting rights, workers' rights, health care, climate action -- it's all on the line, too.

The first presidential debate of the general election is tonight, and there is just over one month left until Election Day. We need to stay focused and engaged, because there is only one month left to defeat Trump, elect Joe Biden, and protect our country's values.
