Every issue that is critical to working families — whether that’s tackling climate change, restoring voting rights, or passing Medicare for All — requires fixing the Senate first. Otherwise, even if Democrats take back the Senate and the White House in November, McConnell will continue to abuse the filibuster to block every attempt to restore our democracy, root out corruption or pass progressive legislation.

That’s why the Working Families Party is coming together with these senators, along with activists and advocates around the country who understand that if we want to enact big, structural change, than we must enact real reform to the Senate including eliminating the filibuster, a “Jim Crow relic” that McConnell has used and abused for far too long.
