Donald Trump has hit a new low, friend.

Every year, hard-working people pay thousands of dollars in taxes. Families just scraping by pay their taxes. Teenagers, working their first-ever minimum-wage jobs, pay their taxes. For 10 of the last 15 years, Donald J. Trump has not paid his taxes. 

A self-proclaimed billionaire who spent $70,000 on hair styling for TV appearances should not be paying less in taxes than working families. That's why I've been fighting for tax code reform from my position on the Ways and Means Committee.

In 2017, the average American family paid $750 a month in federal taxes. That same year, President Trump only paid $750 for the entire year. The system is broken. 

We need tax breaks that benefit working families and children, not billionaires. In Congress, I will fight every day to ensure that our tax system works for everyone, not just the wealthiest 1%.
