There’s been a lot of new attention on our race, Brandt. So I wanted to give you an update on the latest news:

Last week, Cal showed North Carolinians what a real leader looks like in his second debate against Thom Tillis. Cal’s plans to expand access to affordable health care, invest in education, and take on corruption in Washington were front and center — while Tillis floundered to defend his record of inaction.

Post-debate, Tillis began to unravel. First, he encouraged a conspiracy theory questioning the COVID-19 death toll. Then, he cast doubt on the security of mail-in voting in North Carolina — a practice central to our democracy which he has vehemently defended until now.

Look, Brandt, to hear a U.S. Senator spread these false messages is concerning — and only reinforces the importance of flipping this seat. Rather than serve as an independent voice for the people of North Carolina, Tillis has chosen to echo Washington Republicans, sowing distrust throughout our communities.
