Was your local service down?

Nationwide outages of disparate 911 services have a lot of people
wondering - was this a test of our emergency response systems? And if
so, for what purpose? And perhaps more importantly...a test by whom?

If nothing else, assuming this was just a bizarre coincidental fluke,
let this be a reminder that when you need it most, help may NOT be on
the way.
