We cannot take no for an answer -- join us and Texas Democrats in calling on Governor Greg Abott to call a special session to address the gun violence epidemic.
Battleground Texas

Friend,

One week ago, a gunman drove between Odessa and Midland indiscriminately murdering 8 people on a shooting spree that left 25 more people injured, including a 17-month old child.

Just a few weeks before that, a white nationalist walked into a Walmart in El Paso and fired at shoppers, trying to kill “as many Mexicans as possible.”

We are in a crisis, friend -- people are dying, and Republicans in our state are sitting back and letting it happen.

And in some cases, they’re actively making the problem worse. Right after the massacre in Odessa and Midland, Greg Abbott signed a bill that vastly relaxed gun restrictions.

And a couple of days ago, the Governor signed eight executive orders to address gun violence and mass shootings, but guns were not mentioned even once those eight orders.

It doesn’t have to be like this. Governor Abbott can call a special legislative session at any time, and we can work on passing common-sense legislation to address this epidemic. But so far, he’s refused to do it.

We cannot take no for an answer when lives are at stake.

Join us in calling on Governor Greg Abbott to hold a special session to address this crisis.

Thank you,

Terry
