Good afternoon
It’s been a busy couple of months for Dignity in Dying, so I thought I’d get in
touch to give you a quick update about what our amazing supporters have been
doing over the summer.
Throughout August, we ran six webinars on lobbying your MP which more than 200
supporters took part in. My colleagues and I have spoken to many who decided to
set up meetings with their MPs and take this new expertise to the next level.
Supporters meeting with MPs and explaining their personal reasons for backing
the campaign for assisted dying is the most effective way to get new MPs on
board and to bolster already supportive MPs.
This is how change happens. It all starts with you.
As a team we’ve started to go back over our achievements so far in 2020 and
honestly, what our supporters have managed to accomplish, especially in the
current context, is astonishing.
Since January:
* More than 40 MPs have been persuaded to support an inquiry into assisted dying
* Almost every sitting MP has heard from supporters like you
* Senior Conservative figures have marked out assisted dying as an issue for this parliament

* We saw the biggest ever All-Party Parliamentary Group meeting, attended
virtually by more than 60 MPs
And those are just the headlines - the campaign has built a great deal of
momentum this year that we hope to see snowball in the coming months.
Feeling inspired by what we can achieve when we work together? It’s not too late to meet with your MP. If you need some help getting started
please respond to this email letting me know what you need support with and I
can give you all the resources you need to get campaigning.
Keep fighting,
Sadie Kempner
