Today, the Washington & Old Dominion (W&OD) is a paved bicycle trail used for fun and for commuting across Northern Virginia. Of course, the Washington & Old Dominion was originally a railroad — one with a long and convoluted history that helped form communities along it including Dunn Loring, Reston, Herndon, Sterling, and Ashburn.

Some DCPS students may return to physical classrooms

Some students within the DC Public School system will continue to take online classes, but also have additional in-person access to things like tutoring and career training. Public transportation closed in Ocean City over an unsanctioned car rally

All public transportation was closed for a night on Saturday in Ocean City, Maryland after an unsanctioned H2Oi car rally descended upon the beach town. Dozens of people were arrested and more than 115 cars were towed, according to Ocean City police. Services resumed on Sunday morning.  (CBS Baltimore. Tip: Chester B.)

Which Herndon mayoral and town council candidates will champion urbanist issues?

Herndon is holding elections this fall. Two candidates are running for mayor, and an original slate of 10 candidates is now down to eight people running for all of the six seats on the town council. The race is officially nonpartisan and most of the issues in town are focused on local events and changes.
