The coming election is the most consequential in our lifetimes. The stakes
couldn’t be higher — not only do we need to take back the White House,
it’s clearer than ever that we also need to flip the Senate and build our
majority in the House of Representatives.
Yesterday, I endorsed a dynamic group of candidates who will bring a
diversity of lived experiences to the halls of Congress and carry with
them the voices of the people they represent. I am proud to endorse Mike
Espy, Marquita Bradshaw, Cori Bush, Kara Eastman, Julie Oliver, Pam Keith,
and Desiree Tims.

As our communities face overlapping crises of public health, economic
inequality, and racial injustice, and as we look ahead to an election that
will shape the future of our democracy, we need bold, principled voices in
Washington, DC.
Mike Espy acutely understands the critical urgency of the fight for racial
justice and equity. Mike has advocated for progress his entire life and,
as the first Black congressman from Mississippi since the Reconstruction
Era and the only Black Secretary of Agriculture, he is no stranger to
history-making campaigns. I look forward to watching him do it again to
become the first Black Senator from Mississippi in over a century.
Marquita Bradshaw has seen firsthand the devastating impacts of racial,
economic, and environmental injustice in her community. After watching
loved ones and neighbors get sick and die as a result of the deeply toxic
Army Defense Depot down the street, she dedicated her life to advocating
for safe environmental and public health policies. Marquita will be a
bold, activist leader for the people of Tennessee in the United States
Senate.
Cori Bush personifies activism and principled leadership. A nurse, a
mother, and a community builder, in 2014 Cori took to the streets in
Ferguson as a medic and soon emerged as a leader in the movement for Black
lives. The Missouri 1st, and all of our communities, will be well served
by Cori’s tireless, unwavering advocacy in the fight for racial, economic,
education, and environmental justice.
Kara Eastman’s career has been guided by selfless service to the children
and families of Nebraska. As an advocate, a mother, a social worker, and a
small business owner, Kara will bring an enormously important perspective
and determination to the critical policy fights happening in Congress. I
can’t wait for her to represent the NE-02.
Julie Oliver’s lived experience reflects many of the same struggles that
touch the lives of people in the Texas 25th. In the face of continued
Republican attacks on healthcare and other basic human rights, we need
leaders like Julie in Congress, who will uplift the voices of residents in
her district and be a tireless champion for policies that help people, not
corporations and special interests.
The residents of Florida’s 18th district deserve a representative like Pam
Keith, who is dedicated to public service, clear about what’s at stake,
and committed to fighting for progress. Since entering politics, Pam has
been an outspoken advocate for students, workers, seniors, and veterans,
and hers will be an important voice in the next Congress. As Pam says,
‘This is the most important election of our lives. If we win here in
Florida 18, we win Florida, and with it the White House.’ I’m proud to be
in this fight alongside her.
I have such deep respect for Desiree Tim’s energy, her commitment to
service, and her belief in the power of policy and advocacy. Desiree has
spent her career fighting to lift up her community and, in the House of
Representatives, she’ll be a bold advocate for public education, workers,
clean water and air, comprehensive gun safety, and more. I am proud to
support Desiree’s campaign to represent OH-10.
By supporting these seven candidates we can help flip the Senate and
expand our Democratic majority in the House.
